Privilege 585 Catamaran

Our eldest son came up with the name for our boat, which is a Spanish word which means "raft," or "driftwood" and was the nickname Edmund Dantes was given in the 2002 movie The Count of Monte Cristo. 

Here we discuss the brutal details of what we went through to get off our monohull, sift through dozens of boats, and LITERALLY travel the globe to finally find our floating dream home!

After sailing over 12,500nm in a monohull, our family of six decided we needed more space and a more comfortable ride to continue our circumnavigation. After looking at dozens of catamarans, we finally decided on the Privilege 585 from Alliaura Marine. Learn more about it here:
